The government
has approved a plan for construction of about 1,000 km expressways at an
estimated cost of Rs16,680 crore on design, build, finance, operate and
transfer mode.

Snapping four-days losing streak, shares of logistics firm Gati rose 5%, touching to Rs188, on hopes of progress on GST Bill. The Government plans to introduce the Goods and Services Tax Bill in the Upper House of Parliament today. According to reports, lower tax rate and fast movement of goods and inventories will help logistics providers.

According to media sources, Central Bank of India will divest a part of its stake in its subsidiary Cent Bank Home Finance via IPO in the Q3FY2016. The CBOI owns 64.4% stake in the housing finance company while National Housing Bank owns 16% stake and UTI owns 12.8%. The sale of stake in HFC and other investments (ILFS) may help bank to garner capital for business growth and hence positive for the Central Bank.

Hyderabad-based, GSS Infotech said that it has received approval from the Board of Directors of the Company to sell off its nonprofit making overseas step down subsidiary. The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on August 10, 2015, has approved a proposal to sell off the nonprofit making overseas step down subsidiary, the company said.
·Chennai Petroleum spurts on strong Q1 growth of 80%
Shares of Chennai Petroleum spurted over 6% to Rs217 on NSE after the company reported a net profit of Rs923.51 crore (strong growth of 80%).The total income was Rs9,053.43 crore (down 30%) due to lower crude oil prices, however due to strong gross refining margin ($10.09 a barrel) and internal efficiency, earnings jumped sharply.
