Indian Indices: Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a positive opening for the broader index in India, a rise of 12 points or 0.12 percent. Nifty futures were trading around 10,316-level on the NSE Exchange.
Global Market:
· Asian markets: MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan eased 0.25 percent. Japan’s Nikkei slipped 1.0 percent and South Korea stocks lost 0.7 percent.
· US Markets: The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 64.89 points, or 0.26 percent, to 25,444.34, the S&P 500 lost 1 point, or 0.04 percent, to 2,767.78 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 36.11 points, or 0.48 percent, to 7,449.03.
· European markets: European markets finished mixed as of the most recent closing prices. The FTSE 100 gained 0.32%, while the CAC 40 led the DAX lower. They fell 0.63% and 0.31% respectively.

· Rupee recovers early losses; gains 9 paise

Apollo Tyres drops ~2% after MD’s
reappointment rejected
The country’s second-largest tyre
manufacturer Apollo Tyres declined ~2% on Friday after its minority
shareholders rejected the reappointment of Neeraj Kanwar as managing director.
This was a major defeat for the company’s promoter. Incidentally, Kanwar is
also the vice-chairman of Apollo.
Reportedly, some Indian institutional
investors, which include mutual funds, may have voted against Kanwar on the
issue of high compensation.
Now, the Apollo Tyre's board of directors
will discuss the resolution in the next meeting and decide on the future course
of action, as per media reports.
L&T Construction bags orders worth
Rs1,477cr
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Construction
has bagged orders worth Rs1,477cr, the infrastructure major announced on
Friday. The orders have been received under its Water and Effluent Treatment
and Buildings and Factories segments, L&T said in a filing to the exchanges
on Friday.
Under its Water and Effluent Treatment,
the company has received orders worth Rs1, 157cr on a turnkey basis from the
Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan. This is for the execution of
drinking water supply projects in districts of Pali, Dungarpur, and Banswara in
Rajasthan.
Kesoram surges ~4% as Karnataka
Government approves land acquisition proposal
Shares of Kesoram Industries were trading
~4% up in Friday's morning session after it received an approval from Karnataka
Government to acquire land.
The company’s proposal to acquire 675
acres of land for industrial purposes has received an approval under Karnataka
Land Reforms Act 1961, Kesoram said in a filling on Thursday after market
hours.
JM Financial to infuse Rs875cr in NBFC
subsidiary along with external investor
JM Financial Limited (JMFL) has entered
into a Subscription and Shareholders' agreement with JM Financial Credit
Solutions Limited (JMFCSL) and investors for a primary equity infusion of upto
Rs875cr.
In FY18, JMFL’s holding in JMFCSL stood at
50.01% (12.5lakh shares). JMFL has agreed to subscribe upto 89,268 equity
shares of JMFCSL including 19,837 partly paid-up equity shares of face value of
Rs10 each for an amount aggregating upto Rs225cr.
Can Fin Homes clarifies on liquidity
concerns
Can Fin Homes in its filling on Thursday
has given a clarification on media reports regarding liquidity issues. It
claimed that till date, Can Fin Homes has adequate liquidity in the form of
sanctioned and unavailed credit lines from banks.
According to the company, certain reports
on the analysis of liquidity positions of HFCs said that Can Fin Homes has an
asset borrowing gap of -22% as on March 2018 in the less than one-year bucket.

Power Grid Corporation of India has scrapped its Rs3,500-crore bond sale last week as investors balked at its demand for lower pricing after indicating a higher one since the yields began to fall after indicated pricing. Investors had informally agreed to receive 8.53% on a 10-year paper from the state run company, which was rated 'tripleA'. But the pricing of a peer state-run firm at 8.5% for the same tenor made Power Grid seek an identical pricing which the investors were not willing for.

Equity markets in Asia and Europe rallied after the European Union agreed on a bailout package for Greece, subject to conditions. India too rode the wave, with the 30-share Sensex closing at 27961.19, up 299.79 points or 1.8 percent over its previous close. The Nifty closed at 8459.65, up 99.10 points or 1.1 percent over its previous close.
IT, oil & gas, auto, pharmaceutical and FMCG shares were among the notable gainers of the day. Metal shares, which had taken a beating of late on concerns of a slowdown in China, found takers today, though the BSE Metal Index rose less than the Sensex. Private sector bank IndusInd Bank rallied over 3 percent after its first quarter earnings were ahead of analyst estimates. HCL Tech was the top gainer in the Nifty, climbing 4 percent. Other prominent gainers in the Nifty included Zee Entertainment, GAIL, HDFC and BPCL, up around 3 percent each. Asian Paints, Maruti Suzuki, Ambuja Cements, NTPC, Cairn India, Hindalco and Wipro rose between 2-3 percent. According to Nilesh Shah of Envision Capital, the Bihar elections in November will be a bigger trigger for the market than monsoon.
Vedanta was up 0.7% while Cairn India gained 1.5%. According to a top official from Vedanta, the company will be closing the merger deal with Cairn India by March 2016.
Maruti was up up over 2% after foreign brokerage, CLSA maintained its buy call on Maruti Suzuki for target price of Rs 4,450 per share.
Gail has gained 3.5% after media reports stated that the company has launched a tender to buy to liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes for prompt delivery, linked to demand for gas by various local fertiliser companies.

Nifty ends above 8350, Sensex up 88 pts; Vedanta gains 5%

After a lot of struggle, the market ended with gains. The Sensex was up 87.74 points at 27661.40 and the Nifty ended up 32 points at 8360.55. About 1415 shares have advanced, 1371 shares declined, and 176 shares are unchanged. Vedanta, Sun Pharma, HDFC Bank, L&T and BHEL are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Bharti Airtel, HUL, TCS, GAIL and ONGC.
the sectoral front, BSE FMCG, Auto, IT indices are trading lower up to 1.2%. However, BSE Capital Goods, Healthcare and Metal indices are trading higher up to 1%.
Capital Goods shares are among the top gainers on expectations of higher industrial growth in May, the data for which is expected later today. L&T is up 1% while BHEL gained 1.7% after the state-owned company said it has successfully commissioned the second 500 megawatts (MW) unit at Tuticorin Thermal Power Station (TPS).
Shares of telecom companies are trading lower after the govt ordered special audit of mobile networks to check call drops, according to media reports. Bharti Airtel falls 3%, Idea Cellular is down 3% while Reliance Communications is trading flat.
Bank shares are showing an uptrend as investors bought the shares at attractive valuations.HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and SBI are up 0.5-1.5% each.
IT shares were trading mixed with Infosys and Wipro up 0.6-1% each while TCS was down post its first quarter earnings. Wipro is set to acquire Designit, a Denmark-based global strategic design firm, for Euro 85 million (Rs 595 crore, or $94 million).
Maruti pared early gains and is trading flat. The passenger car major announced that its Celerio model that was launched in 2014 has sold over 1,00,000 units.
FMCG majors lost ground on concerns that an uptick in inflation amid fears of poor monsoon and unfavorable business environment in the rural markets hurt the sentiments. HUL is down 2.6% while ITC lost 0.6%.
Emami, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, Colgate Palmolive (India) and Dabur India are down between 1% -5%.
The market breadth is slightly positive with 1,389 advances versus 1,309 declines on the BSE.

Government may do away with blanket exemption for industrial corridors – Negative for construction sector players like L&T, HCC, Gayatri Projects, Pratibha Industries among others
As per media reports, the government could do away with the provision that allows industrial corridors to acquire up to one kilometre of land on either side of a designated railway line or road without being subject to the onerous requirements of social impact assessment, limits on acquiring multi-cropped land and consent provisions.
·Bank of Baroda reduces base rate to 9.90%
Bank of Baroda has decided to reduce Base Rate by 10 basis points from 10.00% to 9.90% and also to reduce Bench-mark Prime Lending Rate ( BPLR) by 10 basis points from 14.25% to 14.15%. The reduction in both rates will be effective from July 13, 2015.
·RIL receives net proceeds of $528 million in first tranche
Reliance Industries announced that its subsidiary, Reliance Holding USA, Inc. has closed the sale of its interest in EFS Midstream LLC ( EFS) to an affiliate of Enterprise Product Partners L.P. The transaction closed on July 08, 2015 with the effective date for the transaction being July 01, 2015. Under the terms of the definitive agreements, Reliance received gross cash consideration of $574 million towards first tranche of sale proceeds.
·JK Paper gets upgrade for Long-term Issuer Rating
JK Paper announced that India Ratings & Research, a Fitch Group Company, has upgraded JK Paper's Long-term Issuer Rating to “IND BBB+” from “IND BBB”. The Outlook is Positive.
·Caplin Point gains on receiving EU GMP approval
Caplin Point Laboratories' shares surged nearly 5%, touching to Rs1033, after the company received EU GMP approval for its small volume sterile injectable liquids facility in Chennai. Caplin Point Laboratories said the site was inspected by the EU authorities in March 2015 and has been certified as complaint with the guidelines stated in Art. 111 (5) of directive 2001/83/EC. The facility is capable of manufacturing liquid injectables in vials, ampoules, lyophilized vials and ophthalmic dosages.
· Om Metals in JV bags contract to set up smart city near Ujjain
Om Metals Infraprojects announced that the Madhya Pradesh government in a bid to start the development of the main infrastructure for the State's first smart city Vikram Udyogpuri near Ujjain invited bids from private player and following this Om Metals and SPML Infra in joint venture have secured a Letter of Intent from Vikram Udyogpuri (SPV of the Govt of MP) a work contract for external and internal infra work relating to roads, lighting, water supply and other allied works on 1000 acre township for the accepted contract amount of Rs324.97 crore.
· Intl Paper to undertake annual maintenance work
In view of Pushkaralu, Government of Andhra Pradesh had directed the Company to shut down the Industry and stop discharging of effluents outside the Industry premises during the Pushkaralu period from July 14, 2015 to July 25, 2015. Consequently, the operations will be disrupted at the manufacturing facility located at Rajahmundry, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh during this period.

·Government moves to protect banks’ exposure in highways
The government is set to incorporate a number of changes in contract conditions which will significantly reduce the risk on loans given to highway projects becoming NPA. The amendments that have been cleared include lenders getting 'stepping right' in projects where they find huge difference between physical progress compared to the amount of loan they have released.
·L&T terminal likely to be taken over by Adani group
Adani Group is in the final stage of getting into an arrangement with L&T to take over the operational and management control of Kattupalli International Container Terminal near Chennai.
The terminal was built at a cost of Rs 4,000 crore and this deal is as part of L&T’s strategy to unlock value from non-core assets. The container terminal currently has two container berths and it handles 1,200 containers per month and got three regular services. The deal would be value unlocking for L&T.
·ICRA sees risk of under-recovery and concerns in power projects
As per ICRA’s latest report, power sector now stares at a fresh risk of significant under-recovery and concerns on the viability of projects after the generators bid for coal aggressively.The rating agency said that the recent bid for coal blocks that were earlier de-allocated saw negative price bids ranging from Rs 300-1,100 per tonne by winners, which could translate into under-recovery of 40 paise to Rs1.20 per unit of power for projects totalling 6,000 mw, creating concerns over their viability.
·Bids are submitted for 5th round of retail CNG licences
PNGRB had in February offered 20 cities in the 5th round of bidding for city gas licences. Indian Oil Corp Adani combine bid for licence to retail CNG at 5 cities; GAIL for 2 cities; GAIL BPCL combine for 3 cities GSPS for 1 city. HPCL in joint venture with Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Corp Ltd bid for licence to retail CNG and piped cooking gas in East Godavari, Krishna and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh.
·LUPIN: Brazil Suspends Import of Antibiotic Ingredients
Brazilian drug regulator ANVISA has suspended import of active ingredients, used to make antibiotics, produced by pharmaceuticals major Lupin citing 'unsatisfactory inputs' and deviation from good manufacturing practices (GMP). However, ANVISA don’t have concerns with Lupin using another plant at the same location to continue supply of antibiotics. Company expect clearance from ANVISA to resume supply by September. Brazil contribute around 1% of the total revenue for the company.
