MARKET WRAP UP 30-NOV-2018


Closing Bell: Subdued start to Dec series, Nifty below 10,900; Sensex flat; pharma, IT outperform.

Benchmark indices ended marginally higher on Friday, but the Nifty could not hold on to 10,900 level.
This is fifth consecutive day gain recorded by the indices.
The Sensex was up 23.89 points at 36194.30, while Nifty was up 22.10 points at 10880.80. About 1278 shares have advanced, 1310 shares declined, and 146 shares are unchanged.
Among the sectors pharma and IT space outperformed the other indices with 1-2 percent gain, while bank, infra, metal and energy stocks have underperformed.

HEADLINES OF THE DAY

 Promoter increased holding in Inox Leisure: Board approved the allotment of 64,00,000 equity shares of face value Rs 10 each to Gujarat Fluorochemicals, the holding company, (the Promoter) at the issue price of Rs 250 per equity share, including a premium of Rs 240 per equity Share, aggregating to Rs 160 crore.
Allahabad Bank to consider fund raising: A meeting of the board of directors of the company is scheduled on December 6 to consider and approve capital infusion of Rs 3054 crore in the bank by the Government of India.
Lupin shares gained over 2 percent after the launch of skin infection treatment cream in the United States.

Lupin launches generic Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide cream
Pharma major Lupin has launched Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide cream USP 100,000 units/gm (0.1%). The pharma company has received an approval from the USFDA.
As per IQVIA MAT September 2018, Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide cream had annual sales of $54.3mn in the US. The cream formulations of the drug is already genericized and has more than six approved generics in the market. Considering the size and competition, we do not keep high hopes of revenue from this drug launch for Lupin.

Kesoram Industries to demerge tyre business
Shares of Kesoram Industries gained 7% in afternoon session on Friday after a media report indicated that the company is likely to demerge its tyre business.
As per CNBC-TV 18 report, Kesoram Industries, a tyres, cement, and rayon marker is considering demerger of its tyre business and plans to announce the same officially in next week. Post demerger the company is planning to engage a strategic partner in its loss making tyre business.

Tata Motors decelerates 3% as JLR plant on halt
Shares of Tata Motors decelerate 3% in morning session on Friday after media reports suggested that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced a temporary halt on a production activity at its engine factory in Wolverhampton (UK) to adjust for low demand.
This could affect about 500 full time workers at the plant, who will be given leave during the duration of the freeze. However, sources said that the workers will continue to receive full payment during this period. The temporary freeze was being taken as JLR suffered uncertainties ahead of Brexit, low demand for diesel vehicles and weak demand in JLR’s major market, China.

'Yes' to Yes Bank again; stock up 5%
Shares of Yes Bank were trading up 5% on Friday after touching a fresh 52-week-low as well as a 33-month low in Thursday's trade. The bank's stock plunged after Moody’s downgraded its instruments and changed its outlook from stable to negative on Tuesday. Domestic ratings agency ICRA had also downgraded its long-term outlook for Yes Bank on Wednesday.
Yes Bank's exiting MD-CEO Rana Kapoor wants to be named as the bank’s non-executive chairman once his term ends on January 31, as per media sources.

Oil marketing companies decline on recovery in global crude oil prices
Shares of Indian oil marketing companies (OMCs) were trading down on Friday amid a recovery in global crude oil prices. Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL), Indian Oil (IOCL), and Oil India (OIL) dropped on the indices.
Accordingly, shares of HPCL slumped 4%, while those of BPCL and IOCL dropped ~2%. Meanwhile, shares of OIL plunged 7% on the dual impact of rising crude oil prices and a stock buyback announcement.

Nifty likely to open flat 30-NOV-2018


Indian Indices:                           Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a positive opening for the broader index in India, a rise of 13.5 points or 0.12 percent. Nifty futures were trading around 10,929-level on the Singaporean Exchange.

·       Asian markets: Asian markets are higher today as Chinese and Hong Kong shares show gains. The Shanghai Composite is up 0.40% while the Hang Seng is up 0.72%. The Nikkei 225 is not trading.

Yes Bank bounces back after hitting 52-week-low
Shares of Yes Bank rebounded after falling 9% in Thursday’s trade to touch a fresh 52-week low as well as a 33-month low. The private sector lender's stock has tanked 19% in the past three days after Moody’s downgraded the bank’s instruments and changed its outlook from stable to negative on Tuesday.
The stock was the among top losers on the Nifty index. Yes Bank's exiting MD-CEO Rana Kapoor wants to be named as the bank’s non-executive chairman once his term ends on January 31.

Tata Communications to drop Tata Teleservices acquisition plan
Tata Communications, a Tata group company, is expected to scrap the plan to acquire Tata Teleservices’ enterprise business, Economic Times reported.
As per the media report, Tata Sons, a Tata group company, has informally apprised the government that the group it not planning for a deal now and would like to instead concentrate on strengthening the balance sheet of Tata Communications.

Zydus Cadila gets final USFDA approval for Lansoprazole; tentative for Linagliptin tablets
Cadila Healthcare has received the final USFDA approval for Lansoprazole tablets (15 mg & 30 mg) and a tentative approval for Linagliptin tablets (5 mg).
The pharma company has "received the final approval from the USFDA to market Lansoprazole delayed-release, orally disintegrating tablets (US RLD- Prevacid), 15 mg and 30 mg", Cadila Healthcare said in a release to the BSE. It will be manufactured at the group’s formulations manufacturing facility at Moraiya, Ahmedabad, the company added.

Adani Enterprises to finance 100% of Carmichael project through own resources
Adani Mining's Carmichael mine and rail project will be 100% financed through the Adani Group's resources, Adani Mining CEO Lucas Dow has said.
Dow said that the "construction and operation of the mine will now begin".
"Our work in recent months has culminated in Adani Group's approval of the revised project plan that de-risks the initial stage of the Carmichael mine and rail project by adopting a narrow gauge rail solution combined with a reduced ramp-up volume for the mine.

TCS cleared of anti-American bias by jury
A jury in California rejected claims that Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has discriminated against American workers in favor of hiring its US offices with Indians.The verdict is a major victory for the company and indian outsourcing industry, whose business model depends largely on exporting Indian engineers to the US.
The case was the first of several accusing India’s big IT firms of hiring bias in the US to go to trial. HCL Technologies, Infosys and Wipro also face similar claims.TCS attorneys argued the company had no incentive to discriminate, having spent millions of dollars on building a local talent pool in the US. Employees were terminated because they were unwilling to move to cities in the US where TCS needed more engineers, the company said.

MARKET WRAP UP 29-NOV-2018


Closing Bell: At the close of market hours, the Sensex closed up 453.46 points or 1.27% at 36170.41, and the Nifty up 129.80 points or 1.21% at 10858.70.

A stronger rupee, falling crude oil prices along with a dovish commentary from the US central bank chief boosted markets across the globe, including India. Back home, the Nifty surged past 10,800 on a day when F&O contracts for November series expire.
The Sensex, meanwhile, hit 36,000 during the day’s trade, rising over 530 points.
Both indices ended the session on a strong note, with the Nifty retaining XX mark on expiry.
At the close of market hours, the Sensex closed up 453.46 points or 1.27% at 36170.41, and the Nifty up 129.80 points or 1.21% at 10858.70. The market breadth was narrow as 1300 shares advanced, against a decline of 1292 shares, while 145 shares were unchanged.
Bajaj Auto, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Bajaj Finance were the top gainers, while Power Grid, NTPC, and HCL Tech lost the most.

Deep Industries bags contract: Shares rallied nearly 11 percent intraday Thursday after the company bagged contract from country's largest oil & gas exploration company ONGC.
Shares of Neuland Laboratories surged 13 percent after USFDA issued no observation to its manufacturing facility.
TCS and Phoenix Group expand partnership: Tata Consultancy Services announced an expansion of its ongoing 12-year old partnership with the Phoenix Group, Europe's largest life and pensions consolidator.
Shares of Piramal Enterprises gained 4 percent intraday Thursday after company approved issue of NCDs worth Rs 500 crore.

Indian Indices:                           At the close of market hours, the Sensex closed up 718.09 points or 2.15% at 34067.40, while the Nifty ended higher by 220.90 points or 2.20% at 10250.90.

Global Market:
