Dr Reddys Laboratories Ltd's Q3FY19 consolidated net profit rises 45.1% yoy to Rs485.20cr : Beats Estimates

Dr. Reddy�s Q3FY19 revenue grew by 1.2% yoy to Rs3,850cr. EBITDA grew by 7.4% yoy to Rs865.3cr in Q3FY19 vs. Rs805.5cr in Q3FY18 and Rs684.6cr in Q2FY19. EBITDA margins stood at 22.5% in Q3FY19 vs. 22.8% in Q2FY19 and 21.2% in Q3FY18. PAT grew by 45% yoy to Rs485.2cr in Q3FY19 vs. Rs334.4cr Q3FY18. The result is above our expectations and overall growth and margins are higher due to tight cost control.



Markets give a thumbs up to Union Budget, Nifty Futures hit 11,000 level

Indian benchmark indices witnessed a sharp rally on the opening day of the February F&O expiry as across-the-board buying was witnessed in major Nifty heavyweights.

Nifty Futures saw an intraday high of 11,023, with the index managing to close 63 points higher as margin profit booking weighed in. Nifty Pharma was among the outperformers, gaining ~2% at the close backed by strong earnings posted by Dr Reddyâ��s. 



Fiscal deficit pegged at 3.4% of GDP for FY19-20: FM Piyush Goyal

The Interim Budget 2019-20 has pegged the fiscal deficit for the year 2019-20 at 3.4% of GDP. While presenting the Interim Budget 2019-20 in Parliament, Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs, Railways and Coal, Piyush Goyal said, �The estimate of incomes and expenditure which I am presenting today, pegs the fiscal deficit of year 2019-20 at 3.4% of GDP.�


Ashok Leyland jumps 3% on strong January volume figures

Ashok Leyland Limited (ALL) reported 9% yoy volume growth (27% mom volume growth) for the month of January 2019. Total sales were 19,741 units in January 2019 vs 18,101 units in January 2018 and 15,493 units in December 2018. The volume number surpassed BloombergQuint poll estimate of 16,000 units for January 2019. The volume growth came on a strong base of January 2018, when the company had seen 22% yoy volume growth. The company managed to log growth after declines of 9% yoy and 20% yoy in November 2018 and December 2018 respectively. The stock of ALL reacted sharply to the announcement, gaining ~5% at the high point of the day and settling close to 3% in the positive.

MARKET WRAP UP 2-jan-2018



Closing Bell: Sensex ends over 350 points lower, Nifty gives up 10,800; autos, metal drag.

Equities have ended the session off low points, but still in the red. Weak global and domestic cues weighed on the indices. The Nifty managed to give up 10,800.
Weakness was visible among automobiles, banks, energy, metals and pharmaceuticals. The Nifty Midcap index, too, fell over a percent during the trade. 
At the close of market hours, the Sensex was down 363.05 points or 1.00% at 35891.52, while the Nifty down 117.60 points or 1.08% at 10792.50. The market breadth is negative as 941 shares advanced, against a decline of 1,577 shares declined, while 169 shares were unchanged. Sun Pharma and TCS were the top gainers, while Vedanta, M&M, Eicher Motors and JSW Steel lost the most.

Nifty likely to open lower 18-DEC-2018


Indian Indices:                           A move above 10,950 can be a new uptrend for nifty.

Global Market:
·       Asian markets: Asian markets are lower today as Japanese and Hong Kong shares fall. The Nikkei 225 is off 1.23% while the Hang Seng is down 0.91%. The Shanghai Composite is not trading.
·       US Markets: Dow falls another 500 points, extending worst start to a December in 38 years.
·       European markets: European markets finished broadly lower today with shares in France leading the region. The CAC 40 is down 1.11% while London's FTSE 100 is off 1.05% and Germany's DAX is lower by 0.86%.

·       Karnataka State Pollution Control Board renewed the consent to operate for Graphite India’s electrode plant in Bengaluru for a period up to June 30, 2020 only with the condition to shift the unit from the existing location. The company said that this condition will not have adverse impact on the production capacity of the graphite electrode division in the medium term and long-term horizon.
·       Tata Steel and ThyssenKrupp AG’s European joint venture will be headed by the latter’s steel division chief Andreas Goss, who will also chair the management board. Hans Fischer, the current chief executive officer of Tata Steel Europe, will be the deputy chief executive officer and chief technology officer of the new entity. It also announced the elevation of Tata Steel’s Group Executive Vice President Sandip Biswas as the designated chief financial officer, and the ThyssenKrupp's steel business’ Chief Financial Officer Premal Desai as the chief strategy officer of the new partnership which will be headquartered in Amsterdam.
·       Tata Motors-Jaguar Land Rover hired Boston Consulting Group for $3.2 billion turnaround plan, the spokesperson of JLR worker’s representative body Unite Union said. He added that the workers had not been informed of any job reductions in January next year and do not expect any, as they have to be given at least 45 days of notice. (Bloomberg News)
·       Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company’s board approved closure of loss-making Indonesian arm from Dec. 31.
·       Sadbhav Infrastructure and its parent company Sadbhav Engineering arrived at an amicable settlement with Montecarlo Limited with the help of settlement of litigation. Both, NCLT and Gujarat High Court, disposed the matter and accordingly the legal matters now stands closed.
·       Jet Airways said that as per directions of State Bank of India, forensic audit of specific transactions of the company for the period of April 2014 to March 2018 was already in progress and the aviation company is co-operating fully with auditors and providing them all the information.
·       Ashoka Buildcon board approved to raise Rs 150 crore via non-convertible debentures. Company’s arm also raised Rs 150 crore from Morgan Stanley India Infrastructure for city gas distribution.
·       NMDC revised prices of lump ore at Rs 3,250 per ton and fines ore at Rs 2,860 per month with effect from Dec. 13.
·       IL&FS said it was looking to sell 22 assets and businesses in its domestic roads vertical to seek expressions of interest for road projects. The company appointed Arpwood Capital and JM Financial as financial and transaction advisers. Alvarez & Marsal to act as resolution consultants.
·       Punjab & Sind Bank revised its MCLR across various tenors. One month MCLR is at 8.2 percent and one year MCLR at 8.85 percent..

·         Trend in FII flows:The FIIs were Net Value of Rs  -60.95 segment while the DIIs were Net Value of  -76.84 the provisional figures.

Nifty Like To Open 03-DEC-2018


Indian Indices:                              Nifty may touch 14k by 2019-end, strong earnings growth to aid rally, For the upcoming fiscal, we expect Nifty to trade between 10,000 and 12,000 and by next Diwali, the index could touch 14,000. Edited excerpts.

·       Asian markets: Asian shares rallied on Monday after US and Chinese leaders brokered a truce in their trade conflict, a relief for the global economic outlook and a tonic for emerging markets.
·       Wall Street rises on trade hopes; S&P, Nasdaq post best weeks in seven years.
·       European markets: European markets finished lower on Friday with shares in London leading the region. The FTSE 100 is down 0.83% while Germany's DAX is off 0.36% and France's CAC 40 is lower by 0.05%.

·       A Oil prices surged on Monday after the United States and China agreed to a 90-day truce in their trade war, and ahead of a meeting this week by producer club Opec that is expected to result in a supply cut.

MARKET WRAP UP 30-NOV-2018


Closing Bell: Subdued start to Dec series, Nifty below 10,900; Sensex flat; pharma, IT outperform.

Benchmark indices ended marginally higher on Friday, but the Nifty could not hold on to 10,900 level.
This is fifth consecutive day gain recorded by the indices.
The Sensex was up 23.89 points at 36194.30, while Nifty was up 22.10 points at 10880.80. About 1278 shares have advanced, 1310 shares declined, and 146 shares are unchanged.
Among the sectors pharma and IT space outperformed the other indices with 1-2 percent gain, while bank, infra, metal and energy stocks have underperformed.

HEADLINES OF THE DAY

 Promoter increased holding in Inox Leisure: Board approved the allotment of 64,00,000 equity shares of face value Rs 10 each to Gujarat Fluorochemicals, the holding company, (the Promoter) at the issue price of Rs 250 per equity share, including a premium of Rs 240 per equity Share, aggregating to Rs 160 crore.
Allahabad Bank to consider fund raising: A meeting of the board of directors of the company is scheduled on December 6 to consider and approve capital infusion of Rs 3054 crore in the bank by the Government of India.
Lupin shares gained over 2 percent after the launch of skin infection treatment cream in the United States.

The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 10920 and above this 11200 Support for the immediate term is now placed at 10700 next support will be 10590.
