Nifty Like To Open flat 08-JAN-2018


Market Live: Nifty flat in pre-opening trade, Sensex up 90 pts; Gruh Finance falls 10%.

Indian Indices: Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a flat start with a hint of negative bias.

Global Market:
Asian markets:
Asian markets are higher today as Japanese and Hong Kong shares show gains. The Nikkei 225 is up 0.80% while the Hang Seng is up 0.21%. The Shanghai Composite is not trading.
 US Markets: Asian stocks mixed as US-China trade talks continue.
 European markets: European markets finished lower today with shares in London leading the region. The FTSE 100 is down 0.39% while France's CAC 40 is off 0.38% and Germany's DAX is lower by 0.18%.


Major Headlines of the day:

Rupee opens lower at 69.80 per dollar.


The market is facing significant resistance around 11,000 on the Nifty, and is likely to consolidate in a 500-point range between 10,500 and 11,000, says Udayan Mukherjee.

Nifty Futures on Singaporean Exchange were trading mildly lower on Tuesday morning. They were trading a tad below 10,800-mark.



The trend in FII flows:- The FIIs were Net Value of Rs 736.18 segment while the DIIs were Net Value of -141.97 the provisional figures.

MARKET WRAP UP 2-jan-2018



Closing Bell: Sensex ends over 350 points lower, Nifty gives up 10,800; autos, metal drag.

Equities have ended the session off low points, but still in the red. Weak global and domestic cues weighed on the indices. The Nifty managed to give up 10,800.
Weakness was visible among automobiles, banks, energy, metals and pharmaceuticals. The Nifty Midcap index, too, fell over a percent during the trade. 
At the close of market hours, the Sensex was down 363.05 points or 1.00% at 35891.52, while the Nifty down 117.60 points or 1.08% at 10792.50. The market breadth is negative as 941 shares advanced, against a decline of 1,577 shares declined, while 169 shares were unchanged. Sun Pharma and TCS were the top gainers, while Vedanta, M&M, Eicher Motors and JSW Steel lost the most.

Government set to pump Rs2,345cr into Air India
The Government has sought Parliamentary approval to infuse Rs2, 300cr into Air India after a failed bid to sell off the airline in May. The Rs2, 300cr is an addition to the Rs27, 000cr already infused into the airline operator over a span of a decade. The cash-strapped airline has been running on taxpayer bailouts and has not made money for more than 10 years.  Air India was set to be sold along with its debt of $5bn. However, the company found no takers so the Centre ambitious plans of privatizing the national airline came to a halt. Hence the Modi government took a decision to turn around the airline.

Sun Pharma secures USFDA approval for Elepsia

Sun Pharma said that its epilepsy drug Epilepsia XR has been approved by the USFDA. This is a New Drug Approval. EPILEPSIA is a novel formulation of Levetiracetam 1000mg and 1500mg and is indicated for adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial onset seizures in patients 12 years of age. The drug is developed by Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC). Sun Pharma has in-licensed this drug from SPARC in July 2016. Epilepsia XR had secured a USFDA approval in March 2015, however, due to compliance issues at Halol, Sun Pharma received a complete response letter (CRL) in September 2015. With the Halol clearance received in June 2018, this drug was expected to get a USFDA approval soon.

Aurobindo Pharma gets USFDA approval for Potassium Chloride ER tablets

Aurobindo Pharma has received final approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture and market Potassium Chloride extended-release tablets, 8 mEq (600 mg) and 10 mEq (750 mg).
Potassium Chloride Extended-Release tablets, a generic version of Upsher-Smith  Klor-Con Extended-Release tablets, will be launched in January 2019. The approved product has an estimated market size of ~$60mn for the twelve months ending October 2018, according to CQ VIA.

Indiabulls Real Estate sells a stake in 2 projects in Gurugram

Indiabulls Real Estate shares were up 1% in early morning trade on Friday as the company announced in a BSE press release that it has signed a deal with subsidiaries owned by The Blackstone Group L.P., a globally renowned real estate private equity investor. The deal was signed so that IndiaBulls Real Estate could divest up to 50% stake in two office assets in Udyog Vihar, Gurugram, aggregating 784,000 sq.ft. Leasable office space.

Bosch announces the suspension of manufacturing operations at Bidadi plant for two days

Leading technology and auto ancillary company, Bosch Limited (Bosch), part of the Robert Bosch Group, announced that it was suspending manufacturing operations at its Bidadi (Karnataka) plant for two days i.e. December 28 and 29, 2018. The move is aimed at adjusting production with market demand. The company mentioned in its release to stock exchanges that the suspension was due to the fact that volumes at the plant had reduced due to a reduction in customers requirement. It also mentioned that there was no financial impact on account of the proposed suspension of operations. Bosch has a total of 8 manufacturing plants in India.

MARKET WRAP UP 19-DEC-2018


Closing Bell: Bloodbath on D-Street as Sensex plunges over 700 pts; Nifty gives up 10,500.

Bulls continued their momentum on Wednesday as fall in crude oil prices spurred the rally in equities. The Nifty managed to end above 10,900-mark. 
Among sectors, banks, automobiles, consumption, and infrastructure names were the big gainers, while the Nifty Midcap index rose over a percent. IT and pharma were the big losers. 
Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Indiabulls Housing and Bajaj Finserv were the big gainers, while Sun Pharma, Infosys, and HCL Technologies lost the most.  At the close of market hours, the Sensex was up 137.25 points or 0.38% at 36484.33, and the Nifty up 52.80 points or 0.48% at 10961.50. The market breadth was positive as 1594 shares advanced, against a decline of 984 shares, while 147 shares were unchanged. 


HEADLINES OF THE DAY


Equity benchmarks have extended their gains, with Sensex rising nearly 200 points. The Nifty is eyeing 11,000-mark. The National Company Law Tribunal has sanctioned the Scheme of Arrangement amongst Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) and Bharti Airtel and their respective shareholders and creditors.
Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate (IBREL) jumped 7 percent after the board approved a scheme of arrangement to facilitate divestment of assets in Chennai to the US-based Blackstone Group.
European stocks traded slightly higher after a dramatic fall in the price of oil spurred speculation the US Federal Reserve might be done with monetary tightening.


The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 11120 and above this 11280 Support for the immediate term is now placed at 10820 next support will be 10600.

Nifty flat in pre-opening 14-DEC-2018

 Asian markets: Asian markets are lower today as Japanese and Hong Kong shares fall. The Nikkei 225 is off 1.73% while the Hang Seng is down 1.44%. The Shanghai Composite is not trading.
 US Markets: US markets decline on trade news, dollar climbs.
 European markets: European markets finished lower today with shares in France leading the region. The CAC 40 is down 0.26% while Germany's DAX is off 0.04% and London's FTSE 100 is lower by 0.04%.

Aurobindo to face lawsuit in US for Irbesartan contamination
As per news sources, a lawsuit has been filed in Federal Court of Florida against Aurobindo Pharma for the contamination of its Irbesartan APIs, used in the treatment of high blood pressure. The class action lawsuit also named US pharma company ScieGen Pharmaceuticals, distributor Westminster Pharmaceuticals and the US retail supply chain giant Walmart.
Earlier this year, human carcinogenic impurities were found in the APIs supplied by a Chinese company Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceuticals. Zhejiang Huahai was manufacturing Sartan range of products which is used in the treatment of high blood pressure. Zhejiang Huahai then recalled the Sartan products in many countries. Zhejiang Huahai is currently facing several lawsuits in the USA.

Infosys inaugurates Hartford Technology and Innovation Hub
Infosys, a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, inaugurated its Technology and Innovation Hub in Hartford. Infosys also announced that it has hired more than 7,000 American workers in the last 18 months as part of its ongoing commitment to accelerate the pace of digital innovation for American enterprises. The Hartford Hub, located at 225 Asylum Street in the Goodwin Square Building, will help Infosys work more closely with its clients in the region and will serve as the global Hub for Infosys’ InsurTech and HealthTech efforts. The Hub will feature Living Labs for the Future of Insurance, the Future of Healthcare and the Future of Manufacturing amongst others.

Sagar Cements board approves investments in Satguru, Jajpur Cements
The board of Sagar Cements, at its meeting on Wednesday, has approved investments in two companies, namely Satguru Cements and Jajpur Cements. “The board has approved a proposal to invest a sum of Rs150cr in Satguru Cement Pvt Ltd (SCPL), Indore, to set-up a greenfield cement manufacturing plant of 1mn ton capacity along with waste heat recovery power plant at a total cost of Rs426cr. SCL will be holding 65% in the equity share capital of SCPL on completion of the above projects,” Sagar Cements said in a filing to the exchanges aftermarket hours on Wednesday.

Power Grid wins bid for UP transmission line project
Shares of Power Grid Corporation of India gained in the morning session today after it bagged a project to set up a transmission system for evacuating electricity from the 1,320MW Jawaharpur thermal power project and construct a substation in Uttar Pradesh. “Power Grid has been declared as the successful bidder under Tariff based competitive bidding to establish the transmission system for evacuation of power from 2 x 660MW Jawaharpur Thermal Power Project and construction of 400kV substation at Firozabad along with associated Transmission Lines' on build-own-operate-maintain (BOOM) basis,” the company said in a filing to the exchanges after-market hours on Wednesday.

Moody's changes GSK’s outlook to negative; affirms A2 rating
Moody's Investors Service has changed the outlook for GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK) and its subsidiaries to negative from stable. The change in outlook follows the company's announcement on December 3, of its intention to acquire Tesaro for $5.1bn. At the same time, Moody's has affirmed GSK's A2/(P)A2 long-term and (P)Prime-1 ratings. "We have changed GSK's outlook to negative as the company will deleverage more slowly than expected following the acquisition of Tesaro. While the acquisition allows for a solid strengthening of GSK's oncology franchise, we expect credit metrics to remain weak for a prolonged period of time," said Knut Slatten from Moody's.
