Share market week key events and data:


F&O expiry, assembly elections, domestic and global macroeconomic data, the trend in global markets, the movement of rupee against the dollar and crude oil price movement will dictate trend on the bourses in the near term. Investment by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) will be monitored.

Trading could be volatile next week as traders roll over positions in the F&O segment from the near month November 2018 series to December 2018 series. The November 2018 F&O contracts expire on Thursday, 29 November 2018.

On the macro front, the government will announce data on third-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) on 30 November 2018. The Indian economy grew 8.2% year-on-year in the second quarter, above 7.7% in the previous three months.

On the political front, state assembly elections will be closely watched. Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram will be held on 28 November 2018. Polling in Rajasthan and Telangana will be held on 7 December 2018. The election to the 90-member Chhattisgarh Assembly was held in two phases 12 and 20 November 2018. Counting of votes will be held across all the five states on 11 December 2018.

On the global front, the Markit Composite PMI Flash for November 2018 will be unveiled on 23 November 2018. On the same day, the Markit Manufacturing and Services PMI Flash for November 2018 will be unveiled. The Nikkei Manufacturing PMI Flash for November 2018 will be unveiled on 26 November 2018.

US Federal Reserve's Federal Open Market Committee will release the minutes from its November 7-8 policy meeting on 30 November 2018.
