INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX NIFTY ENDS FLAT

After a daylong choppy session that saw the equity benchmarks swing between red and green, the domestic market closed in the black on Tuesday, snapping its longest losing streak in over five months.

Disappointing earnings of benchmark heavyweights like L&T and uncertainty over the outcome of Bihar election continued to weigh heavy on investors’ mind even though gains seen in other Asian markets provided some comfort.

• TVS Motor surges as October 2015 volumes beat estimates
  Shares of TVS Motor surged over 5% to Rs288.50 on NSE after October 2015 dispatch volumes rose 13.9% YoY to an all time high of 274,622 units; volumes beat estimates TVS Motor reported a 13.8% YoY growth in two wheeler volumes for October 2015 to 264,112 units. The motorcycle segment volumes grew by 17% YoY to 106,175 units. The scooter volumes rose by 29.6% YoY to 91,430 units. Moped volumes were down 5.9% YoY to 66,507 units.

  Reserve Bank has fixed the public issue price at Rs 2,684 per gram for the sovereign gold bonds, for which applications will be accepted from November 5 to 20.
  
  
  IOC posts Q2 loss Rs 329 cr, April-Sep GRM at $5.76/bbl
  State-run oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has posted a loss of Rs 329 crore during July-September quarter compared to profit of Rs 6,435.7 crore in preceding quarter. Revenue declined 15.7 percent to Rs 85,384.8 crore during the quarter compared to Rs 1, 01,306.8 crore in year-ago period.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS: NIFTY ENDS AT 8050 SENSEX SLIPS 98 POINTS

The market has ended lower. The Sensex was down 97.68 points or 0.4 percent at 26559.15 and the Nifty slipped 15 points or 0.2 percent at 8050.80. About 1162 shares advanced, 1533 shares declined, and 122 shares were unchanged.

Sun Pharma may decide to discontinue some non-strategic businesses as part of its integration process with Ranbaxy. The management indicated that the company expects to incur certain integration charges in order to generate long-term synergies from the merger (with Ranbaxy).

·        Dr Reddy’s Ltd (DRL) launches Nise D Spray in India - Strengthens OTC portfolio – Positive

Nise D Spray offers quick and targeted pain killing. Through this product DRL expands its offerings in the pain management therapy area.

In India, market for pain relief product is Rs1700 crore. Pain relief sprays are growing 20 times faster than creams and gels.

·        IOC expresses interest in taking 5-10 per cent stake in Rosneft

Indian Oil Corp (IOC) has expressed interest in taking 5-10 per cent stake in the Rosneft-operated field.

ONGC Videsh Ltd had agreed to buy 15 per cent stake in Russia's second biggest oil field of Vankor from Rosneft for $1.268 billion.

The OVL deal is yet to be closed, but IOC has expressed its interest in take in stake in Vankor field. Positive read thru for IOC

·        Indian Bank Q2 net profit at Rs369 cr (YoY)

Indian Bank has announced the following Un-Audited Standalone results for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 :

The Bank has posted a net profit of Rs369.32 crore Vs Rs314.33 crore (YoY)

Total Income has increased to Rs4578.65 crore Vs Rs4340.33 crore (YoY)

·        Maruti Oct 2015 volumes up 29.1% (YoY)

Maruti Suzuki reported an impressive 29.1% YoY growth in dispatches for the month of October at 134,209 units.

Domestic volumes grew by 24.7% YoY to 121,063 units aided by new launches.

The entry level i.e. Mini segment (Alto, WagonR) volumes for the month were up 5.2% YoY to 37,595 units.
