Sun Pharma slides 5% on USFDA
observations for Halol plant
Shares of Sun Pharma were trading in the
red on Friday morning after the US health regulator issued 6 observations for
its Halol plant for inspections conducted
Between August 20-31
The USFDA observations include:
Laboratory controls do not include the
establishment of scientifically sound and appropriate test procedures designed
to assure that drug products conform to appropriate standards of identity,
strength quality, and purity.
Procedure designed to prevent
microorganisms in drug products not required to be sterile are not followed.
The written stability programme for drug
products does not include sample size based on statistical criteria for each
attribute examined to assure valid estimates of stability.
There are no written procedures for
production and process controls designed to assure that the drug products have
the identity, strength, quality, and purity they purport or are represented to
possess.
Written procedures are not for the
cleaning and maintenance of equipment, including utensils, used in the
manufacture, processing, packing, or holding of a drug product.
The responsibilities and procedures
applicable to the quality control unit are not in writing.
Motherson Sumi approves bonus issue of
one share for every two shares held
The Board of Directors of auto ancillary
company Motherson Sumi Systems Limited (MSSL) has approved a bonus issue of one
equity share for every two shares held in the company. The bonus issue was on
occasion of the company completing 25 years of its listing on the stock
exchanges.
Aurobindo Pharma extends gains post
Sandoz deal
Aurobindo Pharma rose for a third straight
session today on the back of heavy volume. In the last three trading sessions,
the stock has advanced over 30% on the NSE.
Aurobindo Pharma was up 9.4% yoy compared
to a 16.29% gain in Nifty and a 20.11% gain in the Nifty Pharma index.
Aurobindo announced today that it has
acquired Sandoz’s generic and dermatology portfolios in the US from Novartis.
As per the deal, Aurobindo also gets three manufacturing facilities and
products under development.
Bajaj Auto surges ~3.5% on expansion announcement
Bajaj Auto stocks were up 5% in intraday
trading on Friday. on the back of the company's decision to increase the number
of auto rickshaws and quadricycles to 10 lakh per year.
The decision was made post the Union
Transport minister announcing that auto rickshaws powered by alternative fuel
will be allowed to ply without a permit.
Bajaj Auto has a whopping 86% share in the
alternative fuel 3W market and is poised to benefit from this announcement.
Ashok Leyland commissions cutting-edge
electric vehicle facility at Chennai
Ashok Leyland has commissioned its
cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) facility at its Ennore plant at Chennai.
Reacting to this, shares of the company climbed 2% in afternoon trade on
Friday.
The facility is for purposes such as
designing, prototyping, testing, process prototyping as well as for designing
solutions the company said in a press release to the exchanges on Friday. This
will include engineering, prototyping, and testing for Motors, Battery Modules
and Packs and a Power Electronics Lab, the release added.
